Frequently asked questions

How do I print a picture across multiple A4 pages?

Upload the image, choose A4 and how many sheets you want, then download the PDF and print it at 100% scale. Each page carries crop marks and an overlap strip so the sheets line up when you tape them together.

How many A4 sheets do I need for a 1-metre poster?

Switch to "By finished size", type 1000 mm, and the tool works out the rows and columns for you — usually around 18 A4 sheets for a 1 m wide landscape image.

Why do my printed pages not line up?

Almost always because the printer was set to "Fit to page". Choose "Actual size" or 100% instead. Also keep the overlap at 10 mm or more so you have something to trim and glue.

Can I do this on a Mac, Windows or a phone?

Yes. It runs in the browser, so any device with a modern browser works. The PDF opens in Preview, Adobe Reader or your phone's print dialog.

Does it work with A3, Letter or Legal paper?

Yes — A5, A4, A3, A2, Letter, Legal and Tabloid are all supported, in portrait or landscape.

Is there a size limit?

Images up to 50 MB and layouts up to 400 pages. For very large posters use 150 DPI to keep the PDF small.
